Hope everyone had an awesome weekend! Phil and I visited a high tea place located in the Kerrisdale area. There was a voucher on “Axka” – a Vancouver voucher purchasing website for Rose House Tea & Art. The vouchers vary on availability and also changes from time to time but I do recommend checking it out because sometimes they do have some great voucher deals on there! **they don’t have this deal anymore**
We went on a Friday evening and the last booking was at 5:30pm. So we rushed to high tea right after work. I really like how they had their own parking lot available for their customers at the back.

So Jess and I were invited to a tasting event with Chopstick Fest at 21 Nautical Miles. I had never been to this restaurant before and I heard it was a hands on seafood experience, so this was intriguing for me. Jess and I are usually the type to not want to get our hands dirty, so we stay away from shelled seafood, but this seemed like a unique experience to try.
The restaurant is located in Yaletown on Hamilton, so parking is all metered along the streets. We were lucky enough to find a spot close to the front of the restaurant.
The area at the front of the restaurant usually has large boats with a table and seats inside, but on this particular day, they did not have them out. Pretty cool patio seating concept if you ask me!

Cafe Medina was one of the places that was on my MUST TRY lists for the longest times… I’ve attempted several times before but it always ended up to be a 2 hour wait…so I always give up. This time around, we decided to put down our name for the 2 hour wait and we took that time frame to try out Honolulu Coffee. (which will be up on our blog very shortly)
We were so happy when we officially sat down. This place is literally always packed with people, so I would recommend either going LATER in the day like at 2pm or come SUPER early in the morning to ensure a spot… otherwise you’ll probably have to wait for 2 hours for a table.
The interior is very nice. They were all mainly two seater tables but they are movable so bigger groups would work too. They also have really tall ceilings, which makes the space bigger and not as tight as it may seem.. considering this place is usually packed with people.

Poke restaurants are opening up all over downtown and I’m so happy because I’m a huge Poke fan. The only downside for me is I only go Downtown once in a while. I really wish they’ll open up a Poke restaurant permanently in Richmond so I can get Poke all the time. I’ve been meaning to go grocery shopping soon so I can make my own Poke bowls for lunch, but since recently I have no time to shop.. Poke restaurants are great for people like me… people who don’t have a lot of time.
So I went to Pokerrito in Downtown, it is located on Dunsmuir. I went at night so there was barely a line. Apparently during lunch hours, it can get up to an hour wait… which is pretty ridiculous to me.. considering my lunch only consists of an hour.. and I would definitely not like to spend that hour stuck in a line.

I’m so glad the long weekend has officially started! Even though the weather has been dreadful these days, I’m really looking forward to sleeping in each morning for the next couple of days!
I personally LOVE sushi and I crave it everyday. When I heard Poke Bowls were opening up in Vancouver Downtown, I was extremely stoked. One of the few that opened up so far is “Poke Time”. It’s located right on the street of Robson. The interior was very simple. They got bar seating against the walls.

Its the last day of August and its pouring cats and dogs outside. So I’m taking some time to recapture the good stuff that happened this Summer. Summer was full of ice-cream runs. One of the many memories include Tangram Creamery that is located in the Kitsilano area. When we first stepped in, it smelled AMAZING. Their home made cookie cones were to DIE for. The whole space smelt like a big giant cookie and it was great 🙂 They sell ice creams by the pint for $10.00. They have a full list of the different flavors available.

I woke up this morning thinking it was Fall Season… Can we just rewind back to June and start Summer all over again?
This Summer, a new restaurant opened up on West 4th. Raisu, the sister chain restaurant of Suika, Rajio and Kingyo. The restaurant is located on the second floor so it is easily missed if you are just driving or walking by! The interior was very nice, lots of natural light and they also had balcony seating! I recommend booking ahead of time if you are planning to come dine here because they do get full fast. Especially if you want to sit in the balcony seatings. My friends and I sat at the middle bar section. I love how they had bottles and bottles of drinks as displayed above us.
