Cafe Medina was one of the places that was on my MUST TRY lists for the longest times… I’ve attempted several times before but it always ended up to be a 2 hour wait…so I always give up. This time around, we decided to put down our name for the 2 hour wait and we took that time frame to try out Honolulu Coffee. (which will be up on our blog very shortly)
We were so happy when we officially sat down. This place is literally always packed with people, so I would recommend either going LATER in the day like at 2pm or come SUPER early in the morning to ensure a spot… otherwise you’ll probably have to wait for 2 hours for a table.
The interior is very nice. They were all mainly two seater tables but they are movable so bigger groups would work too. They also have really tall ceilings, which makes the space bigger and not as tight as it may seem.. considering this place is usually packed with people.
We both ordered a Salted Caramel Latte ($4.05). I love coffee art… and the flavor of this latte was AMAZING…. it was surprisingly not that sweet, which I like! So it was very enjoyable!
We both got our own Belgian Waffles- ($3.15/waffle) and it costs an additional $1.00 for the side sauces.
I ordered the White Chocolate Pistachio & Salted Caramel Sauce with two waffles.
My friend ordered the Milk Chocolate Lavender & Salted Caramel Sauce with two waffles.
I would recommend ordering just ONE waffle per person because it does get filling. I don’t know why but we felt greedy that day and decided to order two waffles each…. Overall the waffle was soft and tasted really good with the sauce pairings. My fave sauce obviously was the Salted Caramel one…
For our main course, we ordered the Fricassée ($18.00) – 2 Fried Eggs, Braised Short Ribs, Roasted Potatoes, Caramelized Onions, Applewood Smoked Cheddar, Seasonal Greens with Grilled Focaccia. We ordered this dish to share and it was a great portion for us to share. The short ribs were tender and juicy and the overall the dish was great.
